Teapot Workshop with Miki Shim
Three-Day Teapot Intensive with Miki Shim
Join Miki Shim for a hands-on, three-day workshop designed to take your teapot-making skills to the next level!
You’ll dig into key wheel techniques: throwing off-the-hump, crafting perfectly fitting lids, pro-level trimming, and making spouts that pour without drips. We’ll also cover glazing strategy so your finished piece really pops.
What’s Included:
Half a bag of clay (enough to get started on your teapot projects)
All the tools you’ll need for class
Need more clay?
No problem—students can purchase additional clay if they need more than the included half bag.
Workshop Schedule:
A lunch break each day around 1:00 PM, giving you time to recharge and connect with classmates
Day 1: Demo, hands-on throwing off-the-hump—make cups, teapot bodies, and lids
Day 2: Throw spouts and lids, trim everything, start assembling your teapot
Day 3: Finish construction, with an afternoon glazing demonstration
Skill Level:
Participants should be able to center up to 2 lbs of clay and throw a basic cylinder to keep up with the pace of the class.
